  = Link 1             These are the
  long-horned grasshoppers among which several species are predaceous.  Conocephalus
  saltator Sauss. (Xiphidium varipenne Swezey), feeds mainly on insects.  In Hawaii it is known as a natural enemy
  of leafhoppers and other insects that inhabit cane fields.  It has been credited with being the main
  factor in natural control of mealybugs (Swezey 1905, Illingworth 1929).  Clonia
  vittata Thbg. Of South Africa seems
  to limit itself mostly to an insect diet, consisting of the caterpillars of Busseola fusca Hemp., but also various locusts and grasshoppers (Clausen
